A wider base, a steadier step
When your toes can spread under your body weight, your foot gets a bigger base to stand on. That is physics, not fashion: wider base, less wobble.
No toes squeezed together
In many shoes, pressure builds up on the big toe because the other four are pushed into a narrow tip. Our sole gives every toe its own room, so weight spreads evenly across the whole front of the foot.

Feet swell during the day: after standing for hours, in the heat, at the end of a long trip. The wide front has room to absorb that without pinching, from morning to evening.

Many shoes still narrow at the little toe. Ours does not narrow anywhere, so all five toes get to work the way they are meant to, not the way a last forces them to.

It started by the river Brda.
4.bare was born in Nakło nad Notecią. The name, the colours and the lines of the shoes came from what we had outside the window: the river Brda, pine forests and sand by the water.
We made sandals, winter boots and shoes for children. They reached barefoot shops in Poland and abroad, and people who had once felt a wide toe box and a thin sole, and did not want to go back.
Then came a pause. Longer than we planned.
We used it for one thing: our own sole. Wider than what we knew from the market, with a honeycomb that bends in your hands. Today it is ready. So are the shoes: cotton in nine colours, leather in five. Now it is your turn: tell us which one.

When will the shoes be available, and at what price?

Which sizes can I order?
EU 38 to 45. Every model page shows the insole length and width for each size, finds a size from a foot measured in millimetres, and prints a 1:1 template to stand on.
Are the sandals Extra Wide too?
Yes. All three sandal models are built Extra Wide, like the sneakers.
Can I reserve exact quantities across several colours and sizes?
Yes. On a model page you type the number of pairs next to each size of the chosen colour, and they go straight into your list. Repeat for other colours, then send the whole list with your shop details. We will contact you separately about wholesale terms.
